Herb Lawrence, Center
Director
The ASU SBDC has been under the
direction of Mr. Herbert Lawrence
since November of 1996. He obtained
a MBA from the University of Central
Arkansas (1984), taught business
management classes as assistant
professor at Lyon College (then
Arkansas College) in Batesville, and
served in the administration of
University of Arkansas Community
College in Batesville. Mr. Lawrence
was awarded the "2000 Resource
Partner of the Year Award" given
by the United States Small Business
Administration, the "State Star"
for Arkansas by the Association of
Small Business Development Centers
in 2002, and Certified Business
Advisor in 2007.

Laura
Miller, Business Consultant
Ms. Miller joined the ASU SBDC in September 2000. Ms. Miller also worked
as a business consultant in Kansas
from 1995-1999. She obtained her MBA from Pittsburg State University,
undergraduate from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and previously
worked as a small business consultant at the Pittsburg State University
Small Business Development Center. Ms. Miller counsels small business
owners and start-ups. She became a Certified Business Advisor in 2007.

Susan
Glasgow, Training Coordinator
Mrs. Glasgow has been the training
coordinator for ASU SBDC since
January 2006. She was the owner of a small retail business in Jonesboro for
over 17 years and also has experience in the trucking and insurance
industries. Mrs. Glasgow began teaching on a university level in 2001 in the
College of Business at Arkansas State University (ASU) and at Black River
Technical College. She obtained her MBA from ASU
with an emphasis in marketing/management. Mrs. Glasgow received the "ASU MBA
Graduate of the Year Award" in 2001. Her undergraduate degree in
marketing is also from ASU. In 2007, she earned the designation of
Certified Business Advisor. As Training Coordinator, she works to
provide the business community and entrepreneurs with skills and
knowledge to begin and operate successful businesses, in addition to
coordinating the small business training program.

Lois
Travis, Secretary
Ms. Lois Travis has been with the
ASU SBDC since its beginning at ASU.
She serves as the initial contact
with our clients in providing them
the necessary information concerning
our small business workshops. Ms.
Travis has worked for the ASU
College of Business since 1981.
